FRENCH SECOND LANGUAGE(FSL) / ENGLISH TEACHER
Full-time (1.0 FTE) Term position
Sentinel Secondary School
Effective September 2, 2026 until the return of the absent teacher
or June 30, 2026
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications And Experience
A full-time French Second Language/English (1.0 FTE) position consisting of English 8, FSL 10 and FSL 11 is available at Sentinel Secondary School. This position replaces a teacher on leave. The successful candidate must have:
• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching French
• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching English
• Hold a valid BC Professional Teaching Certificate
• Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.
• Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Integrated Resource Packages, (IRPs) as well as providing evidence of the use of criterion referenced assessment and Performance Standards.
• Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents
• An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.
• Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based approach to planning and teaching
• A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
