About Progressive Financial Group
Located in Sydney, Progressive Financial Group is a prominent accounting practice offering expert advice on various financial services. We are currently seeking a full-time Accountant to join our expanding team in Lewisham NSW.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and prepare Tax Returns & financials for small to medium sized business clients, including sole trader, company, partnership, trust business structures, and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs).
Review, analyse, and advise on business clients' financial statements, management accounting, financial performance, budget, and business structures matters.
Investigate and report any accounting discrepancies and/or suspected accounting fraud to the business clients.
Respond to business clients' internal accounting policies and procedures enquiries and act accordingly, including reviewing, analysing, and providing sound advice on its internal accounting policies and procedures.
Advise on computer-based accounting systems suitable for business clients' accounting needs, such as Xero and MYOB.
Review and analyse business clients' BAS Statements and report to business clients.
Assist in preparing technical tax compliance audits and other financial compliance and statutory matters.
Liaise with Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), or other external agencies as needed.
Guide accounting administration staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Maintain management's confidence by protecting financial data integrity and confidentiality of business clients.
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably a Degree in Accounting.
At least 12 months of experience in a public practice.
Solid technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.
Sound knowledge of Connected Ledger, MYOB, Xero, and Handisoft.
Strong planning and organising skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain and coordinate internal/external relationships.
