Accountant

Overview:
An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial reporting. The role involves various accounting tasks such as bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, tax preparation, and assisting with audits. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring that all transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Post and reconcile journal entries to the general ledger.

Prepare and manage financial data entry into accounting software or spreadsheets.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Manage and process incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring timely payment of bills and invoices.

Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, resolving discrepancies as needed.

Monitor overdue payments and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Provide financial summaries and reports for management, ensuring that financial performance is communicated clearly.

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.

Tax Preparation and Compliance:

Prepare and submit tax returns (sales tax, income tax, etc.) in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Ensure adherence to tax laws, maintain records of tax payments, and manage any tax-related inquiries from authorities.

Assist with tax audits, ensuring timely submission of required documents and records.

Audit and Internal Controls:

Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation is complete and accurate.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards, implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

Payroll Processing:

Process payroll in accordance with company policies and tax regulations.

Ensure timely payment to employees and contractors, including processing benefits and deductions.

Maintain accurate records of employee compensation and benefits.

Bank Reconciliation:

Reconcile bank statements with company financial records on a regular basis.

Investigate discrepancies and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.

Financial Analysis:

Perform regular financial analysis to evaluate the company's financial position.

Provide insights on financial performance, recommending improvements or adjustments where necessary.

Maintaining Financial Systems:

Work with accounting software and financial management systems, ensuring that all records are accurate and secure.

Regularly update financial records and databases to maintain current and accurate information.

Collaboration and Communication:
