Your role
Do you have sharp analytical, communication and technical accounting skills? An exciting opportunity is available in Group Accounting Policy team where you will be responsible for:
• Coordination and management of the activities of the accounting change forum – this involves maintenance of the tracker for the accounting developments collection of inputs from all stakeholders, preparation of the monthly meeting packs and internal publication/communication of deliverables
• Providing technical accounting guidance on queries/ transactions – research using internal (UBS developed accounting guidance) and external resources ( IFRS literature, Big four etc) and proposing practical and technically accurate solutions
• Monitoring the IFRS standard setting activity - tracking the standard setting space (IASB and IFRIC) and coordination with topic owners
• Financial Accounting Policy reviews – together with the subject matter experts performing reviews of UBS accounting policies to ensure they are up to date and fit for purpose
• Newsletter – coordination of the periodic production the newsletter, including communication with other team members
• Peer analysis of disclosures and targeted analysis of the accounting treatment for specific areas
• Preparation and delivery of training on accounting policies.
Your team
You’ll be part of the Group Accounting Policy team in India and globally. We are a team of highly trained accounting subject matter experts that advise and fully support all Business Divisions and Group Functions on IFRS accounting issues.
Your expertise
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a university degree
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience
• Proficient with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)
• Knowledge of financial instruments, banking and banking products gained at a large financial services organization and/or through training with one of the Big Four accountancy firms (preferably in a technical accounting team or accounting advisory role)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with staff at all levels
• Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
• Fluent in English
• Hands-on solution oriented mentality, pro-activity, flexibility and commitment are key
