The Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Financial Analysis and Reporting is seeking a motivated Accountant 2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Accountant 2, you will review financial statements and claims processing data submitted by managed care organizations (MCOs). You will conduct financial analysis, prepare payment entries, and interpret and monitor compliance with contractual agreements. You will also ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting is received, complete, and accurate. This role requires using solid judgement skills to make decisions based upon established policies, procedures, and division practices. In addition, you will prepare financial presentations and participate in on-site visits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, with a minimum of one day per month in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
