Job Title: Accountant 3
Duration: 6 Months Contract (possibility for extension)
Location: Irvine, CA, +2612 (Hybrid Day onsite TBD)
Job Summary
• To provide transaction processing, reporting and analytical support for general accounting and other management functions. Prepares a variety of analytical reports for management.
• Prepares account reconciliations and journal entries. Performs other general accounting functions as required in compliance with SOX and GAAP.
Description
Major Responsibilities:
• Provide solutions to facilitate the financial data extraction process from Oracle.
• Coordinate with IT department as a focal point of the accounting/finance side for the implementation of financial reporting automation.
• Perform various analyses for accounts that involve complex accounting and maintain proper accounting for those accounts.
• Prepares complex account reconciliations and prepares necessary routine monthly journal entries.
• Processes and maintains assigned ad hoc or recurring journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepares schedules & graphs to significant trends for management as required.
• Maintains control over assets to ensure accurate and consistent costs with regard to PAC policies and GAAP.
• Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
• Works with external audit firms to support the timely completion of audits or compliance reporting.
Education/Experience Requirements
• 8 years of accounting experience with general accounting experience.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
• Analytical mindset and ability to recognize areas of need and react proactively to resolve issues.
• Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables), Word, and using database software. Oracle proficiency is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, while being adaptable to frequent changes in priorities.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Possess a high degree of problem-solving skills and a high level of concentration and attention to detail.
• Possess a positive attitude and enjoy interacting with others at all levels.
• Uses professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Works on problems of moderate to diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
