Job description
We are excited to invite a dedicated Accountant to join our team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing our financial operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly. While our organization operates fully remotely, we are looking for someone based in Atlanta, Georgia.
#### Key Responsibilities:
• Daily Financial Operations: Oversee daily transactions, including managing accounts payable and receivable. Ensure invoices, payments, and receipts are processed accurately and on time. Keep an eye on cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, address discrepancies promptly, and maintain thorough records of expense reimbursements and credit card statements.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements like balance sheets and income statements to provide timely and accurate information to management.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in creating annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with the VP of Operations to ensure alignment with our strategic goals.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Manage the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and keeping accurate financial records.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and relevant tax laws. Stay updated on accounting regulations, particularly within the federal sector, and make necessary adjustments.
• Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control procedures to protect company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights into our financial performance.
• Project Financial Analysis: Assist Project Engagement Managers with earned value management (EVM) of project budgets, providing insights into project financial performance.
• Consultant Utilization Analysis: Analyze and report on consulting utilization rates and profitability.
• Financial Dashboard Management: Maintain and manage an executive financial dashboard in real-time, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) across all business units.
• Audit Support: Provide support during external financial audits by supplying documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing processes and efficiency within the finance function and collaborate on implementing improvements.
• Ad hoc Projects: Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, offering financial expertise and analysis as required.
#### Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Experience with Financial Management ERP systems (e.g., Unanet, SAGE, Infor, SAP)
• Previous experience in a management consulting, accounting, or law firm setting
• 5 to 8 years of industry experience
• Based in Atlanta, Georgia
• Excellent written and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Successful completion of a drug and background check
