Job description
This is a key role within Insignia Financial, responsible for the preparation and reporting of accounting and financial data. As an Accountant – Financial Control, you will provide a clear and accurate picture of the financial performance of assigned business entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Month end reporting within communicated deadlines
Support compilation and completion of regulatory returns and statutory financial statements
Maintains and is responsible for accounting operations including cash control
Prepare accurate end of month financial reports, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations by the given deadlines
Provide insights to Finance Business Partner teams and prepare monthly P&L variance analysis on the monthly operating performance of the legal entities
Preparation of monthly tax calculations including movements in deferred taxes as required under AASB 112
Identification, development and implementation of improvements or new processes within the team
Provide advice to management on financial accounting issues and developments
Requirements include:
Degree or Qualification in Accounting, CA/CPA or progressing towards
Experience with Workday preferred
Sound knowledge of computer based financial systems and PC based applications especially Microsoft Excel and Word
Ideally some understanding of the financial services industry
Sound appreciation and understanding of prevailing mandatory accounting standards and regulations and a basic understanding of Australian taxation issues
Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
