Qualifications
Needs considerable knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, practices and procedures
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting; or a bachelor’s degree in business administration or public administration or a related field with a major of accounting coursework
Experience: Considerable (i.e., five (5) years) professional experience in a financial accounting, auditing or business administration field at the full performance level or 2 (two) years of experience performing work as a senior-level accountant and/or auditor
Substitution: Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) may be substituted for a degree in accounting or a major in accounting
Proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel, Access, and other relevant applications
Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and other relevant regulations, especially if managing medical billing
Excellent verbal and communication skills to interact with team members, external parties and upper management
Proven ability to lead and motivate team, manage performance, and foster a positive environment
High Level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing financial documentation
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supervising the revenue unit on the Fiscal team in the DHHS Office of the Chief Operating Officer
The position provides lead level supervision to the DHHS revenue unit and performs advance and complex accounting and auditing work
Contacts are with the County financial employees to obtain or exchange information, with financial representatives of County-funded agencies about external accounting reporting requirements
An employee in this position is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments and resolves most conflicts which arise
Must follow generally accepted accounting principles County guidelines, reporting requirements or Federal State, and local laws, and departmental regulations
This position is responsible for fee collection processes with the Revenue unit of DHHS
Develop performance plans for Revenue team staff members
Supervise the daily activities of revenue team staff members
Oversee the preparation of billing and reporting documents for external parties
Ensure revenue procedures and SPOs are updated and accessible for new employees and the fiscal team manager
Manage medical billing to ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements and maximize volume

• Do you have excellent verbal and communication skills to interact with team members, external parties, and upper management?
