Position Overview
Start Date: July, August or September, 2025

Preferred Work Term Length: 12 to 16 months

Preferred Education: B Comm/Bus

Discipline: Accounting, Finance

Preferred year of study: 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in a formal co-op/internship program with their post-secondary institution OR Students must be returning to their post-secondary institution after this work term.

The Role
We’re seeking three Accounting Co-op Students to join our Finance Accounting Team. You will be working with a team of dedicated employees across North America.

During your work term, we will push you to be your best by exposing you to challenging projects and giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your work term. You will gain practical experience, develop technical skills to complement your academic learning, and gain exposure to future opportunities at our company. To succeed, you’ll need to cultivate and communicate a clear vision and set goals for yourself.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Accounting Co-op Student will be:

Accounts Payable (1 student position):

Support the invoice payment function through the processing of field tickets, service entries, invoice workflows, and completion of contract rate validation;
Work with various proponents across the business to support all aspects of the budget to pay process including providing direct support to business contacts and vendors;
Review existing processes with a critical eye to identify and implement improvements that deliver additional efficiency and effectiveness;
Backfill other staff roles and/or participate directly in any ad hoc project or system update requirements;
Support the Accounting team and other finance teams on an adhoc basis as required.
Corporate Reporting (1 Student position):

Assistance with monthly and semi-annual reporting of results to management;
Detailed variance analysis of various financial statement accounts on a periodic basis;
Running several types of Excel and SAP based reports for management;
Organizing complex data for management;
Assisting with Power Point presentation materials and other communication;
Completion of Stats Canada financial surveys for government reporting;
Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA) reporting;
Communicating directly with our headquarters in Beijing; and
Other duties as required.
Revenues & Royalties (1 Student position):

Prepare and book monthly accruals for the non-operated Canadian assets;
Assist with preparing monthly financial review report for management;
Assist with monthly forecast and budget controls;
Prepare account and bank reconciliations;
Prepare monthly and semi annual corporate schedules;
Assist with stream-lining processes;
Processing reports in an accurate and timely manner;
Other ad-hoc duties as required.
To be eligible for our co-op student program, you must be enrolled in a co-op/internship program sponsored by an accredited post-secondary institution OR returning to your post-secondary institution after this work term.
