Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing all grant financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting functions for Partners for Progress. The Accounting Manager works closely with the Finance Director to ensure monthly, quarterly and year end accounting is done in a timely manner and that all financial transactions are accurate and meet generally accepted accounting principles per GAAP and audit standards.
Assist Finance Director in all financial close transactions for the month, quarter, or year to ensure financial statements accurately represent the reporting period. Responsible for submitting monthly, quarterly financial closing and tax reporting and filing. Calculate and process required monthly journal entries in a timely manner. Maintain all journal entry records for audits. Assist Finance Director in audit preparation for program, state and federal audits. Prepares monthly financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including reconciling all necessary accounts. Reconcile bank statements each month, ensure accurately reflected in accounting system. Reconcile Credit Cards each month, ensure accurate data input into accounting systems. Research, set up and manage Medicaid billing.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years' working in accounting, Quickbooks experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of GAAP
• A combination of education/experience demonstrating ability to fulfill job requirements may be considered.
• Advanced ability with all programs in MS Suite including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
• Openness to technical direction and ability to follow direction and accept constructive feedback.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, spelling, and composition skills. An ability to communicate with people from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with differing styles of communication across a diverse team. Professional demeanor in-person, electronically and over the phone.
