Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the position is to accurately process Accounts Payable transactions
This position will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor
Process transactions, including invoices, ensuring accuracy
Reconcile vendor statements, inventory, etc
Research and correct discrepancies
Explain variances
Report on findings
Communicate with stakeholders, including vendors, stations, and management, and answer their questions
Maintain files and documentation
Verify payments
Process incoming communications
Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment

To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Specialist I. The primary responsibility of the position is to accurately process Accounts Payable transactions. This position will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
Essential Duties
• Process transactions, including invoices, ensuring accuracy
• Reconcile vendor statements, inventory, etc.
• Research and correct discrepancies
• Explain variances
• Report on findings
• Communicate with stakeholders, including vendors, stations, and management, and answer their questions
• Maintain files and documentation
• Verify payments
• Process incoming communications
Job Qualifications And Competencies
• Basic computer knowledge
• Accounting knowledge

Preferred Qualifications
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
• Strong Mathematical skills
• Associate Degree in Accounting, Mathematics, other related field, or relevant work experience
