Purpose:

To deliver best practice customer service and administration support, actively contributing to the ongoing operation of the Waroo Local Area Directorate.

The secondary function of this position is to provide procurement administration assistance to team members of the Warroo Directorate (i.e., Director, Overseer, and Officers).

Mandatory and Highly Desirable Qualifications and Licences:

To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you have (or have the ability to obtain upon commencement) the below mandatory requirements for the role:

Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence
General Construction Induction (White) Card

Certificate III ? Business Administration (or similar discipline); or an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required


Required Skills and Experience:

Strong experience and working knowledge of financial management processes, particularly associated with costing activities

Ability to gain understanding of the legislative, policy and procedural framework and auditing requirements relating to procurement and contracting activities within a public sector environment e.g. Local Government Act 200+ (Qld); Local Government Regulation 2012 (Qld)
High attention to detail and accuracy of information with the ability to review, edit and proofread documents for completeness and accuracy and undertake data entry
Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Sound experience working within or ability to quickly learn IT systems associated with financial management.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to set priorities and manage time to achieve work program deliverables despite conflicting pressures
Well-developed written skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and provide well considered and informed recommendations
Commitment to a team-based approach, with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve Council's goals and departmental work program projects and tasks
Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council's values and team goals
Previous experience working in local government or similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential

Permanent, Full-time position
Maranoa locality allowance - $72.00 per fortnight
5 weeks annual leave
15 days personal leave
