About Us

Chilliwack Bowls of Hope Society (CBOH) is a registered charity delivering food security programs to children and families in Chilliwack and surrounding areas. Our mission is to help local children reach their full potential — fueling their minds and bodies, one meal at a time.

We are currently seeking a Summer Administrative Assistant through the Canada Summer Jobs Program to support our summer initiatives and help prepare for fall programming.

Position Overview

As our Summer Administrative Assistant, you’ll support the Executive Director and Program Manager with a wide range of administrative tasks that keep our organization running smoothly. This role is a great opportunity to build practical skills in nonprofit operations, communications, and office administration.

Key Responsibilities

Input and update data in our CRM system
Track and communicate with Community Roots Garden members
Assist in creating and planning social media content
Update process documents and internal manuals
Perform general administrative and office tasks
Use email and phone for internal and external communication
Operate common office equipment (printers, scanners, copiers, computers, etc.)
Skills You’ll Gain

Social media marketing and content creation
CRM and data entry skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Research, documentation, and communication skills
Real-world nonprofit admin experience
You’ll also be encouraged to think creatively and bring fresh ideas to how we share our story and impact with the community.

Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs Program)

Be between 15 and 30 years old (inclusive) at the start of employment
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status
Be legally entitled to work in British Columbia
Required Attributes

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Keyboarding and basic computer proficiency
Attention to detail and organizational ability
Assets (Preferred but Not Required)

Minimum Class 7N driver’s license
Experience with MS Word and email communication
Ability to work well as part of a team
Additional Information

Language: English (French not required)
Commute/Relocation: Must be able to reliably commute to Chilliwack, BC, or plan to relocate before starting
