Position Summary

Join a team that plays a key role in advancing international education at JIBC. As the Administrative Assistant II, Office of International Affairs, you will ensure that our global recruitment and study abroad activities run smoothly, ethically, and in compliance with institutional policies. This role supports relationships with international agents, tracks contracts and commission payments, and supports recruitment campaigns that connect students from around the world with JIBC’s specialized programs.

Additionally, this position coordinates global learning programs by reviewing applications, organizing program logistics, and corresponding with institutional partners. It supports JIBC’s participation in recruitment events by scheduling, preparing materials, and providing administrative support for travel and engagement activities.

This role requires a high level of cultural awareness and strong communication skills. You will regularly engage with diverse audiences, including international partners, agents, and prospective students, many of whom may be communicating in English as an additional language. Your attention to detail, ability to navigate cross-cultural interactions, and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenization will be essential to your success.


Qualifications & Requirements:
Secondary school graduation, with successful completion of a college degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, plus two years office experience; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Strong cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals for whom English is a second language.
Proficient in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate-level use of Excel, Word (including formatting) databases, and other standard office software programs.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
Sound judgment and initiative in handling day-to-day responsibilities.
Ability to handle confidential/sensitive material with discretion.
Capable of working independently while meeting deadlines and managing priorities.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service, administrative tasks, and organizational abilities.
Effective project coordination and time management skills.
Solid working knowledge of routine office systems and procedures, including record-keeping, filing systems, administrative controls, and standard business communication formats.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical ability to lift boxes (up to 25 lbs.) is required.
