Community Correctional Services (CCS) is a state-wide service that manages individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious *** offences on post sentence supervision, and prisoners on parole.
Evidence suggests that people who re-integrate into the community following a period of imprisonment require transitional support in order to reduce their risk of reoffending.
Why we love this work
When a person's risk profile allows it, community-based rehabilitation is more effective at addressing offending behaviour than time in custody.
In your work, you will hear another person's story. You will come to understand their world view. And you will hold them accountable for their decisions. You will be part of giving offenders a second chance to make a more positive contribution to the community.
Your job won't always be easy, but with a strong work ethic and a belief in what you're doing, you will be able to take pride in your work and will know what it's like to make a genuine difference in someone else's life.
Advanced Practitioners manage a caseload of complex and high-risk offenders on court orders, many of whom have completed part of their sentence in custody. They draw on evidence-based frameworks to deliver dynamic case management practice with offenders who have complex needs and those who have committed serious offences.
You will help a caseload of complex and high risk clients meet their court order conditions and connect them to community programs and services. You will also lead and mentor staff, guiding them to deliver quality evidence-based case management practice to clients.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include:
conducting risk assessments
preparing case plans
providing interventions
coordinating service providers and care teams
address the underlying causes of offending
leading and developing case management staff.
What's in it for you?
A fair salary
Generous leave entitlements
Transparent performance framework
Employee Wellbeing support
Comprehensive training when you commence and throughout your career
Secondments and promotions
