Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Technical Designer who enjoys weaving creative problem solving with technical accuracy to create amazing product
You have a B.A./B.S. from a 4-year university with a major in a relevant field (i.e
Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Textiles, etc) with 5+ years of technical design experience in the apparel industry
You have an expertise in woven product categories, specifically tops, outerwear and pants, and understand the particular fit and construction nuances within wovens apparel
You have people management experience
You are an expert in Tech Pack creation and garment development comments
You have a strong knowledge of textiles, pattern making, grading construction standards with a solid grasp of industry, spec and pattern terminology
You have experience working with factories and an understanding of production timelines, equipment and garment construction options
You are comfortable communicating with a variety of cross-functional business partners and exhibit the utmost professionalism in every interaction
You are passionate about using data science and client feedback to help improve overall quality and fit of garments
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
You are an excellent multi-tasker, extremely detail oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills
You thrive in a feedback driven environment

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for owning multiple product categories and ensuring fit and quality standards are well-executed and consistent across all styles
You will be responsible for managing and developing at least one direct report
While managing your category’s product and team, you will work cross-functionally with the Product Development, Buying, Data Science and Engineering teams to interpret client feedback and execute opportunities for improvement to better serve the client through fit
Take full ownership of one or more product categories, including setting priorities, leading fittings and managing deadlines
Bring your expertise in wovens fit, quality and construction to the technical design team, mentoring and sharing your technical product knowledge with cross-functional partners
Create and maintain Tech Packs for categories owned
Review direct report’s fit comments and help advise on corrections sent to vendors
Supervise sample tracking, fit comment accuracy and overall team organization and tone
Leverage client feedback to establish fit consistency, determine trouble areas and implement product action plans
Maintain an awareness of the best and worst sellers in each season as they relate to fit
Troubleshoot possible production issues related to construction, fabrication or garment quality with a solutions-oriented mindset
Leverage PLM systems to improve team efficiencies
Coach and develop direct report and team members and lead by example in all team initiatives and communication
Lead new season style meetings with Product Development counterparts to ensure fit intent of product is understood
Develop, implement and maintain category quality, construction standards and fit blocks
Build close relationships with cross-functional team members and external vendors, leverage team member expertise and provide feedback when appropriate
Support manager when needed with special project initiatives

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Designer who enjoys weaving creative problem solving with technical accuracy to create amazing product.
