The Disability Management Advisor is responsible for managing and supporting disability leave cases, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation. The role focuses on collaborating with employees, managers, Occupational Health Nurses, Human Resources, Safety Health & Environment, Labour Relations, Union Representatives, vendors and healthcare providers to facilitate a smooth and efficient process for supporting employees returning to work in a healthy and sustainable manner.


What you will do:


Assist employees in the process when they require a disability leave due to illness; coordinate and manage short-term and long-term disability cases by partnering with our vendor.
Serve as a liaison between employees, vendors, healthcare providers, and management.
Provide expert advice on disability management policies and best practices.
Develop, implement and manage return-to-work plans tailored to individual cases.
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
Maintain confidential records and documentation related to disability cases.
Advocate for necessary accommodations to support employees' return to work.
Act as a member of the Modified/Accommodations Committee.
What you will bring:


A degree / diploma in Health, Human Resources, or a related field.
At least 5 years’ experience in disability management or a similar role.
Strong understanding of disability management laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Proficiency in using disability management software and tools.
