ABOUT THE ROLE



The Advisor Media and Communication plays a critical role in AMSA's media management, supporting the organisation's mission through effective communication strategies, media and social media engagement. You will work closely with senior leaders to mitigate reputational risks and promote AMSA’s objectives.



You will be responsible for:



Managing daily media operations including media liaison, monitoring, analysis, and reporting
Preparing engaging media material and responses
Supporting emergency response media coordination
Overseeing the management of AMSA’s social media channels
Supporting communications for AMSA’s international engagement




SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:



Tertiary qualifications in media, journalism, or communications
Experience in media and communication roles, preferably in Government
Strong crisis management and reputational risk management skills
Proficiency in managing social media channels
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
