About this team:

Our Turnaround and Restructuring team provides independent financial turnaround and strategic advice to a range of stakeholders facing stressed and distressed situations. The Turnaround and Restructuring team guides companies and their stakeholders through periods of uncertainty and stress, helping to solve the most complex and critical challenges. We are focused on creating and recovering value whether that is through liquidity, financing or capital structure solutions.

The team also has a growing debt advisory offering and also works closely to support Deloitte’s Transactions team on a wide range of mandates.

We are seeking to expand with the recruitment of highly talented and motivated individuals with a strong interest in Turnaround and Restructuring. The team is growing and there is a genuine opportunity to get exposure to a large portfolio of projects and provide a fresh perspective, as well as grow your knowledge and experience.

Your typical day will include:

Your role within the team is to support delivery of insolvency appointments and a wide range of restructuring engagements. This will include:

Assist in the administration of insolvency engagements, which include liquidations, receiverships, voluntary administrations and creditors comprises.
Supporting management teams in preparing and reviewing business plans, short term cash flow forecasts and restructuring plans.
Developing financial models.
Developing, analysing and presenting restructuring and insolvency options.
Supporting the execution of preferred options, e.g. turnarounds, recapitalisations, disposals and other exit options.
Engaging with creditors, investors, and other stakeholders to negotiate and secure buy-in for restructuring initiatives.
Understanding and actively supporting the Firm’s risk from take-on through to completion of engagements.
Working effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
Qualifications
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

A relevant University qualification in accounting, finance, or economics and ideally you will be working towards your CA or CFA.
At least one years’ experience within an insolvency/accounting focussed role, or demonstrated ability to interpret financial statements.
Empathy, resilience and a solution focused mindset.
An inquisitive nature who wants to understand the “reason” behind the numbers and an ability articulate those reasons.
Engaging communication skills, including verbal and written, and an ability to build client and internal relationships.
Strong financial and analytical skills including experience in financial modelling would be advantageous.
Strong project management skills as you will be managing a number of competing client priorities simultaneously.
A basic understanding of insolvency legislation and practices is not a prerequisite but helpful.
