The Role
As an APS 4 Logistics Officer in the +th Combat Supply Support Battalion (+ CSSB) located at Warradale Barracks, you will work as part of an integrated and dynamic logistics and supply team.
You will be accountable to perform moderately complex warehouse and logistic operation processes and procedures to support + Brigade Units. You will work within an integrated workforce and small team environment to support the establishment and implementation of operational outcomes and routine governance deadlines to support Defence activities, training and compliance.
The APS 4 Logistics Officer will be required to supervise a unit warehouse to prioritise and manage workflows, coordinate inventory control, utilise material handling equipment and drive vehicles up to a medium rigid truck to various Defence sites.
An APS 4 Logistics Officer you will be required to work in an office environment to undertake basic research and analysis requirements, compose responses to correspondence and briefs, have the ability to use logistical IT software and associated systems.
The APS 4 Logistics Officer is a supervisory position, which will require you to develop and maintain a good understanding of relevant legislative frameworks in order to provide supervision, guidance and training to team members.
About our Team
The +th Combat Service Support Battalion (+ CSSB) is a multi-disciplinary, integrated team that provides command and control, operational planning, logistics management, training and recruitment functions as part of a number of Defence capabilities in South Australia.
+ CSSB primarily supports other Reserve and Full-time units within the Brigade and has a high performing culture and an increasing role in Army and Defence.
The successful candidate can expect to be increasingly challenged in the role whilst being supported by an inclusive team and leadership group.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has a demonstrated ability to perform Logistical and inventory management functions under broad direction with a high level of autonomy, able to take initiative and use sound judgement and decision making to overcome conflicting priorities and manage work to achieve moderately complex tasks.
You will have well developed communication skills, both written and verbal, strong ability to build relationships with stakeholders and be able to influence and provide advice to achieve Defence outcomes. Your demonstrated ability to research and apply relevant principles will be critical to successful outcomes.
You will be flexible and adaptable to respond to changing work priorities, have a genuine desire to contribute to the development of team members and support the Australian Defence Force.
