The Role
Are you looking for the opportunity to become a commercial specialist while working in a diverse team with a great culture?

Do you want to:

Support the development and maintenance of the ASDEFCON suite of contracting templates to ensure legal compliance and commercial best practice?
Provide SPOs and stakeholders guidance on ASDEFCON-related acquisition and sustainment policy/template queries and issues?
Support the implementation of Acquisition & Sustainment Procurement Reform (ASPR)?
Liaise with Defence groups, Defence industry, and other Government Departments?

If so, a role in the ASDEFCON & Contracting Initiatives team is the place for you. You will be supervised by an experienced Contracting Manager who will be responsible for your growth and development. You will receive exposure to activities and opportunities which will broaden your commercial skills, working knowledge and network, and will prepare you for any future procurement and contracting roles within the Department of Defence.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team
The ASDEFCON & Contracting Initiatives team is a small, close-knit team of experienced and supportive commercial professionals. The team develops and maintains the commercial elements of the ASDEFCON suite of contracting templates and manages contracting initiatives to reduce the cost of tendering and improve commercial outcomes. The team supports Defence's commercial function to provide procurement, contracting and commercial expertise and support across the procurement lifecycle to enable Defence to meet its objectives, maximise value for money and meet legislative and mandatory policy requirements. The team supports flexible work arrangements and will work with the successful candidate to ensure that work arrangements are considerate of individual needs as well as those of the organisation.
