The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a well-rounded intermediate to senior Area Geophysicist with strong technical and communication skills to join the Conventional Exploration team at Canadian Natural. Working with a multi-disciplinary, geographic area team of exploration, exploitation, production, and other company professionals, you will use your proven geophysical experience to provide integrated seismic interpretations to support current and future oil and gas developments.
Having a proven track record of innovatively developing reserves and optimizing production with an attractive economic rate of return is essential. As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate your flexible and adaptable nature, with a positive attitude towards a high volume of work with multiple deadlines; you must be able to produce high quality interpretations in a short period of time. Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts

Key Accountabilities:
Perform high quality interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic volumes integrated with geological mapping and engineering data for detailed reservoir characterization and production optimization of producing properties and future developments
Provide geophysical support to the planning and execution of drilling and completions programs including horizontal and/or multi-lateral wells
Work alongside Canadian Natural's seismic operations and technical support teams, recommend and manage the planning, acquiring, and processing Q.C. of 2D & 3D seismic programs to support the business needs of the asset team
What You Bring to the Role:
5+ years of Canadian petroleum geophysics interpretation experience with a minimum Bachelor of Science in Geophysics
Demonstrated problem solving, communication, organization, and team leadership skills
Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA
Strong seismic workstation interpretation skills including a high level of proficiency with Seisware
Demonstration of fundamental stratigraphic and structural seismic interpretation skills including modelling, synthetic well ties, horizon and amplitude mapping, time-to-depth conversion, and various seismic attribute analysis techniques
Familiarity with Subsurface AI (Attribute Studio) and Hampson & Russell (Strata, Emerge, AVO) and software packages is considered an asset
Knowledge of multi-stage frac design, optimization, and surveillance methods is also considered an asset
