Job SummaryWorks independently under close supervision, sell a specific product, service line, or solution that within another sales representative's territory. Partner with inside/outside sales representatives to assist in closing complex and/or technical sales that require additional expertise.. May attend technical training classes. Area Sales Manager - Pharma is responsible to develop, plan and execute JT Baker& Macron range of Pharma Products at the respective operational area to achieve annual budget & gross margins.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

Sell entire VWR Life Science product portfolio, with emphasis on bioMarket suppliers.
Close sales on more technical products, working in conjunction with generalist reps
Identify and assist in the process of converting competitive products to items available from VWR.
Identify leads.
Identify and close new lab business.
Train and motivate the VWR general reps to sell target product areas.
Sell and communicate VWR program strength to VWR sales reps, customers, and potential suppliers.
Help manage Life Science portfolio in local area, and ensure effective communication to sales reps, sales managers, and area vice presidents of sales goals, trends, and performance, in support of local sales growth plans.
Insure that VWR Life Science Program is the best-in-class.
Assume overall territory ownership, along with VWR general sales reps and management team by attending regional meetings, strategy sessions, key account blitzes and on-site technical seminar.
Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Formulate strategy for the territory &ensure delivery of business plan (sales plan) Responsible for achieving budgeted numbers of sales, net contribution & working capital Manage large key Accounts & key distributors to achieve the overall objective of sales numbers & customer satisfaction Responsible for territory growth and increasing market share of Macron range of IP products in line with company vision Establish business relationships at the decision making/Influence levels in all appropriate customer functional areas Collect market intelligence on competition and market trends and to provide feedback to marketing team to develop sales strategies Ensuring discipline in Hygiene parameter like SRCN, DSO etc..
