The Assistant Accounting Manager’s Mission is to tell an accurate story about the Company’s financial position to support Management in making informed decisions. This role is the Company’s primary source of financial data, managing the daily operations of the accounting department, monitoring and analyzing accounting data throughout the month, and producing financial reports and statements during the month end close process. Ensuring compliance with GAAP through the establishment and enforcement of proper accounting policies and procedures is also a critical responsibility
This role requires someone who values accuracy and getting things right the first time since the Company relies on financial data to make decisions. This role also requires an excellent communicator since the sharing of information is essential to ensure truth in financial reporting. In addition, this role requires a self-starting, problem solver who takes pride in and ownership of their work. The Assistant Accounting Manager should demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our core business and products, key stakeholders, and current processes.

Primary Responsibilities
• Month-End Close: Own and complete the month-end close checklist, including recording journal entries, monthly accruals, prepaid amortization, and fixed assets depreciation. Review work performed by members of the accounting team.
• Account Reconciliation: Prepare and analyze reconciliations for various accounts, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct monthly variance analysis on the balance sheet and income statement, identifying trends and reporting significant findings to stakeholders.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with different departments to uncover new reporting opportunities.
• Systems Implementation: Assist in implementing new systems and technologies, developing associated policies and procedures.
• Team Supervision: Lead and motivate the accounting team, providing guidance and support to achieve goals and foster professional growth.
• Audit Management: Oversee the audit process, liaising with auditors and managing audit-related matters.
• Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and maintain SOPs for the financial reporting process.
• Executive Support: Provide support to the Assistant Controller, Controller, and CFO, and assist with special projects as neede
