Job Description
The Assistant Dispensary Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of the pharmacy’s dispensary. This role is responsible for coordinating staff schedules, supporting non-pharmacist team members, overseeing store-level administrative functions, and implementing operational improvements.
The ideal candidate is an experienced pharmacy operations professional with strong organizational skills, leadership capability, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate, manage, and monitor the different areas of operations in the store
Establish the work schedule for all employees (non-pharmacist) and review holiday requests
Prepare and control the store budget
Manage inventory (oversee annual inventory, regular day-to-day management of Rx and OTC products, ordering and maintenance of pharmacy/office supplies)
Building maintenance and management
Determine hiring needs and initiate recruitment and placement of required staff
Review invoices monthly invoices
Train new pharmacy staff members (non-pharmacist)
Make changes to staff roles and responsibilities based on store needs and challenges
Create IT ticket requests for the store
Coordinate store cleaning schedule
Fill in on various pharmacy assistant roles as needed
Fill in for delivery lead role as needed
Run monthly reports for head office
Attend meetings for Workplace Health and Safety
Schedule destruction of old prescription files and financials
Place orders for office supplies via Amazon, Supplies Hub or Staples
Formulate and implement new systems, policies, and procedures to maximize operations
Evaluate employee performance in partnership with pharmacy manager
Reprimand staff when necessary
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a pharmacy operations or team lead/supervisory role
Strong working knowledge of pharmacy workflow and dispensary operations
Experience with scheduling, holiday coordination, and team supervision (non-pharmacist staff)
Comfortable handling staff training, role adjustments, and performance evaluations
Familiarity with running monthly reports, destruction of old prescription files, and office ordering (Amazon, Staples, Supplies Hub)
Experience initiating IT and maintenance requests and coordinating store cleaning schedules
Experience with Kroll, Autostar (POS System)
Ability to multi-task and step into pharmacy assistant or delivery roles as needed
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Operational Hours & Schedule:
Operational hours and Schedule are predominantly day shifts Monday to Friday with no evenings or work on stat holidays. Saturday hours are limited but you may work 1 in 3 or 4 subject to the needs of the business.
Wage will be based on experience.

Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
