Come join us at the West Coast District Hospital as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) and play a crucial role in our tight-knit community surrounded by Tasmania's breathtaking landscapes. We are currently seeking passionate individuals for casual positions to deliver exceptional patient care.
In Tasmania, we cherish quality and celebrate the extraordinary with quiet determination and dedication. As an AIN on the West Coast, you'll experience firsthand the meaningful impact of your work every day. This role offers an exciting chance to contribute to a small community while enjoying the rugged and remote lifestyle. Our isolated location fosters a culture of innovation and strong human connections, blending traditional values with a progressive outlook.
At West Coast District Hospital, healthcare professionals from various disciplines collaborate to serve our community in Queenstown and nearby areas. Bring your authentic self, pursue your passions, and bring your unique skills to our team. You'll receive comprehensive onboarding and a warm welcome, fostering a culture of diversity, innovation, and teamwork.
The Role and the Team:
As an AIN, you will work closely with registered and enrolled nurses to provide hands-on patient care. This includes assisting with patient care priorities, collecting and reporting patient data, and reinforcing the nursing care plan. You will be accountable for maintaining high standards of care and actively participating in relevant educational activities to keep your skills current.
Working within the defined scope of practice for AINs, you will deliver specific aspects of nursing care and be accountable for the standard of care provided. You will collaborate with registered and enrolled nurses to ensure effective patient care, adhering to organisational policies and Work Health and Safety legislation. Your commitment to quality and safety will be integral as you actively participate in improvement activities and report any unsafe practices.
Our hospital features + sub-acute care beds, a Palliative Suite, an Emergency First Response Unit, a 16-bed Aged Care Residential facility, and visiting services such as Radiology, Diabetic Clinics, Physiotherapy, and Podiatry. We also offer community services including Community Nursing, Home Help/Personal Care, and Home Maintenance.
If you are passionate about high-quality nursing care and resonate with our core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (CARE), we invite you to join our team.
