Job description
We are seeking to hire an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team in the City of London. The ideal candidate will manage all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements. Assists in leading the emergency response team for all facility issues. Helps to increase guest and employee satisfaction through effective communications and training.

This is a full-time position and is based on-site at the hotel.
Assistant Maintenance Manager

Your main duties will include (but not limited to):
• Ensure building and equipment licenses and certifications are current
• Maintain property life safety systems, fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems and alarm systems
• Inspect guest rooms to ensure they are ready for guests' arrival prior to being handed back to the front office
• Deliver memorable guest experiences which support in driving Intent to recommend scores
• Monitor and analyse guest satisfaction survey results to ensure these continually improve
• Work alongside front office and housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for arrival
• Ensure the team action and rectify any maintenance issues which are reported
• Ensure the hotel and team are using the Synergy Maintenance system
• Ensure all guest complaints are resolved in a timely manner and logged correctly
• Anticipate guest needs to deliver an above-and-beyond experience
• Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service experiences
• Prepare departmental rota's, ordering and payroll in line with budget
• Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems
• Manages and controls heat, light and power and recommends current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations
• Develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs
• Distributes preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitors timeliness and quality of completion
• Develop a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection and oversee the execution of the plan.
• Contacts contractors for bids and supervising construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines
• Recommends or arranges for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment
• Selects and orders or purchases new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
• Assist other departments, wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships within the whole hotel
• Recruit, train and develop maintenance team members and support in developing our maintenance team
• Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation

About you
• You will have a maintenance qualification, a proven track record in a similar role within a hotel environment, and experience in coaching and developing team members.
• You will have a warm, people-oriented demeanour, a gift for paying attention to the smallest details, a positive outlook, and an outgoing personality.
