Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Assistant Manager, Design to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in the design of pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, and dryers. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and experience in leading a design team. The candidate should also be proficient in the skills and knowledge outlined in the attached document.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: • Lead the design and development of complex equipment, including pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, and dryers, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
• Create and review detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and design documentation using CAD software.
• Perform advanced engineering calculations, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and material selection, to ensure the integrity and efficiency of designs.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure that designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet client specifications. Team Leadership:
• Manage and mentor a team of design engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high quality work and professional development.
• Oversee the day to day activities of the design team, ensuring that project deadlines and objectives are met.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure that all team members adhere to company standards and industry regulations. Project Management:
• Coordinate design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
• Interface with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve design modifications and improvements based on client feedback and project needs. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality control processes.
• Conduct thorough design reviews, risk assessments, and ensure that potential issues are identified and addressed early in the design process.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including design specifications, test plans, reports, and project records. Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in the design of pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, and dryers.
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and methodologies within the team and company.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BE or MTech in Mechanical Engineering. •
5-8 years of design experience in pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, and dryers.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and material selection.
• Familiarity with industry standards and ASME codes related to the design of pressure vessels and related equipment.
• Proven experience in leading design teams and managing complex projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Experience in strategic planning of manpower / Manhours / qualify output / Standardization etc. Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software.
• Certification in relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME Pressure Vessel Certification).
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in quality assurance and compliance with industry regulations
