WPB Operations is the largest business service within Operations, employing more than 10,500 colleagues in 3+ countries and territories. From cards and loan processing, account services and ATM operations to evaluating credit risks, deciding on mortgage approvals and delivering customer correspondence, the team provides a customer-centric experience across all areas of banking.
Responsibilities:
Acquire a good understanding of relevant processes to be able to answer staff queries and make informed decisions.
Meet the expectation of stakeholders/customers by ensuring the quality of work is to a high standard, escalations and complaints are handled in an appropriate manner and preventative measures, identified.
Ensure compliance with audit requirements for the respective area.
Produce, analyze and interpret MI to support / improve performance
Identify and escalate potential show stoppers and provide solutions
Create a supportive work environment driven by people centric values
Facilitate continuous improvement through the identification, implementation and sharing of best practices
Build professional relationships with colleagues in other areas and Business partners.
Exhibit ownership of the business, understand financial impacts of the processes and identify ways to reduce financial losses.
Adhere to operational guidelines and compliance requirements and ensure all operational activities are in strict compliance with audit and statutory guidelines
Ensure service level agreements with business are consistently met and customer service levels are of a continuously high standard in compliance to Group procedures
Monitor and control all daily exception reports and ensure that all transactions are processed and completed and properly authorized within set limits and value conditions
Conduct investigations/gather information so that timely responses to stakeholders’/customers' requests and instructions are addressed and reported to relevant parties
Assist in collating data and providing management information, statistics and reports
Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports (e.g. MIs, Regulatory)
Maintain and ensure due observance of HSBC Internal Control Standards, Global Standards including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators
Participate in meetings with Business Partners (including minutes taking and deck preparation)
Maximize the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the department and contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department
Participate in project meetings and proactively provide recommendations to process improvements to achieve increased productivity where appropriate
Proactive Risk management with regards to any areas and/or issues in the process, organize meetings up front to anticipate all potential issues and escalate as appropriate.
Requirements
Qualifications
Graduate in any discipline (E)
Evidence of very good prioritizing, planning and organizing skills
Experience of establishing and maintaining relationships with business units / managers for managing day-to-day business
Ability (high) to speak and understand English fluently (E)
Strong analytical, statistical and data mining skills to study trends, make projections and to interpret numeric information (D)
Operational experience (at least 2-3 years) in the Wealth processes including CASS rules knowledge (E)
Ability (high) to write business letters and reports (E)
Excellent communication skills (E)
Knowledge of, and experience in problem solving techniques (D)
Knowledge of, and experience in planning and organizing techniques (E)
Ability to lead and motivate teams (E)
Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge appropriately (E)
Flexibility to work in shifts. The process may require working in night shifts (E)
Ability to build rapport with, and relate to a wide range of people (E)
Self-driven (E)
Strong decision making skills (E)
Experience in Wealth / Investments process (E)
