Assistant Manager, Tax (Hybrid)

*Key Responsibilities**

- Lead and manage tax compliance engagements while contributing to complex tax planning assignments.
- Review and provide guidance on the preparation of both corporate and personal tax returns.
- Conduct technical tax research and provide analysis on a wide range of issues related to corporate and cross-border taxation.
- Assist clients in the implementation of tax strategies that align with their business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Partners and Senior Managers on planning engagements, ensuring timely delivery to clients.
- Identify tax risks and planning opportunities for clients, assisting in the resolution of complex tax matters.
- Mentor and coach junior tax staff, offering performance feedback and contributing to team development.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities for value-added services.
- Contribute to internal process improvements and promote knowledge sharing within the tax practice.

**Qualifications & Skills**

- A minimum of three years of progressive experience in Canadian taxation within a public accounting firm.
- CPA designation completed or nearing completion.
- Enrollment in or completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or a Master’s in Taxation (MTax).
- A strong understanding of Canadian tax legislation and corporate tax matters.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of elucidating complex tax issues clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- A strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in an additional language is considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $+5,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
