Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Assistant Store Manager will assist in managing daily store activities, supervising staff, and implementing merchandising strategies to meet business objectives.
Duties
Assist in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
Support recruiting efforts by interviewing and onboarding new team members
Manage payroll processing and maintain accurate records of employee hours and schedules
Lead merchandising initiatives to optimize product placement and presentation
Operate POS systems for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges with accuracy
Handle purchasing decisions to maintain inventory levels aligned with sales trends
Supervise staff performance, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities
Oversee cashiering duties, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to cash handling procedures
Implement pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to maximize sales
Manage store budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met
Conduct marketing activities to attract new customers and retain existing clients
Maintain organized records of sales, inventory, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
Requirements
Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles with strong leadership skills
Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills
Experience with merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
Knowledge of recruiting, training & development, team management, and performance evaluation
Ability to handle administrative responsibilities such as payroll processing and budgeting
Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and customers
Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional shopping experiences
Familiarity with marketing strategies relevant to retail settings
