Cafe Area: The café section is separate from the cat room for health and safety reasons and has its own ventilation system, making it suitable for people with cat allergies. Guests can order a variety of drinks and treats, including vegan and gluten-friendly options, and watch the cats through a large glass window.
Kitty Kingdom: This is the enclosed space where the cats live and play. It is equipped with cat trees, climbing structures, toys, and quiet nooks. Visitors must book a time slot in advance to enter the Kitty Kingdom, though a few walk-in spots may be available. The fee for a visit helps cover the costs of the cats' care.
Adoption: All cats in the Kitty Kingdom are available for adoption. Staff members are available to answer questions and explain the adoption process for those interested in providing a forever home.
Events and Merchandise: The café hosts special events like cat yoga and paint nights. It also sells a variety of locally sourced, cat-themed merchandise.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the daily operations of our retail location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves supervising staff, managing sales and inventory, and ensuring the store meets its operational goals. The Assistant Store Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive shopping environment and driving store success through effective team management and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure efficiency and high standards of customer service.
Supervise and motivate team members, including recruiting, training, and developing staff to achieve sales targets and maintain store standards.
Manage merchandising activities, including pricing, product placement, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities.
Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping with accuracy and integrity.
Support marketing efforts by executing promotional campaigns and maintaining visual merchandising standards.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and facilitate ongoing training & development for team members.
Assist with purchasing decisions, budgeting, and sales management to meet financial objectives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store procedures.
Engage with customers to resolve issues promptly, ensuring a positive shopping experience that encourages repeat business.
Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll processing, and maintaining organized records.
Requirements
Proven supervisory experience in retail sales or store management.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills.
Knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing techniques, and sales management.
Experience with recruiting, interviewing, training & development, and performance management.
Organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and administrative tasks.
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently through time management skills.
Customer service-oriented mindset with professional phone etiquette.
