The Norton Rose Fulbright litigation group in Canada was named Chambers Canada Litigation Law Firm of the Year for 2025. The Calgary litigation group is one of the first-choice practices for complex, high-value commercial work for local, national and global corporations. We have particular expertise in energy and infrastructure, including regulatory and project work in the electricity, oil and gas, renewable energy and carbon capture spaces, and in providing regular advice on the Indigenous consultation framework in Alberta and federally. Our Calgary office is currently seeking a junior or mid-level associate to join this group.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have two to five years’ experience in a litigation group focusing on commercial litigation and/or regulatory proceedings.
This is a tremendous opportunity to join a world-class team of professionals, working with a collegial and collaborative team at an established Canadian law firm.
You will be focusing on:
Assisting as counsel with a wide variety of complex energy regulatory applications and commercial litigation matters in the areas mentioned above
Drafting and presenting strong legal arguments through memos, briefs, facta, and court and tribunal appearances
Mentoring students
What you bring to the role:
2-5 years’ experience gained within a reputable practice with significant exposure to complex regulatory and litigation matters
Excellent client service, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational abilities
Willingness to take initiative
Excellent academic credentials
