Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Associate Engineer to join our Scene Description team in the Weta FX Engineering Department. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of technologies, including Pixar's Universal Scene Description (USD), and contribute to maintaining backend tools and technologies, as well as front-end user tools and scripts.
Key Responsibilities
Triage issues from various support queues
Participate in design and code reviews
Debug complex issues involving workflows across multiple systems
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and open communication with developers and users
Contribute to the design, implementation, integration, deployment, and support of various backend and front-end systems
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field
Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Curiosity and desire to deeply understand how things work
1+ year of related work experience and/or internship experience
Ability to function in a hybrid team setting and effectively collaborate with engineers and users
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with VFX pipelines, DCCs, and/or Games development
Linux experience
Hands-on experience with debugging or profiling tools such as GDB, vtune, Tracy, etc.
