Procurement
The Procurement job participates in obtaining good/services required by the organization. Under general supervision, this job analyzes data and documentation regarding products, vendors, costs, profit margins and shipments. This job participates in reviews of bid proposals, pricing negotiations and the securing of contracts within budgetary scope for a variety of goods/services.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Participates in negotiations with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
• Completes necessary documentation detailing use of competitive bidding, obtaining purchase order approvals, and order expediting.
• Identifies, researches, and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
• Documents policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services.
• Analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
• Reconciles outstanding invoices, works with receiving department to follow-up on back orders, and files closed purchase orders.
• Identifies opportunities for cost savings and participates in procurement process improvement activities.
