About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in the Sourcing Vendor Management Branch (SVMB) within the Home Affairs Portfolio.

The SVMB provides subject matter expertise for technology and capability related vendor procurement and ongoing contract management across the portfolio.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing invoice validation, analysis, reconciliation, and goods receipting in line with the departmental financial management framework.

You will also prepare and complete accruals and journals as part of the month-end process, create/update contracts and purchase orders in the departmental financial system, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage invoice validation, analysis, reconciliation, and goods receipting in line with the departmental financial management framework.
Prepare and complete accruals and journals as part of the month-end process.
Create/update contracts and purchase orders in the departmental financial system.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to cultivate a cohesive working relationship within the Section and Branch.
Maintain documentation and records to audit standards and the Departmental record management policies.
Minimum Qualifications:

Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
Ability and willingness to learn.
Experience in finance is highly desirable.
Additional Information:

BASIC FINANCE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn the Departmental financial systems, including SAP and TRIM A team player Analytical skills Basic understanding of contract and procurement processes is beneficial but not mandatory.
To be eligible for the position, you must be an Australian Citizen. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
