Aviation GSE is on the hunt for a full-time mechanic that is an excellent self-starter that can be relied on to follow deadlines with minimal to no supervision. The ideal candidate is a leader and a team player.
Requirements
English
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience
Experience 3 years to less than 5 years
Own Tools/Equipment
Tools, Steel-toed safety boots
Valid driver’s license
Attention to detail, Manual dexterity
Hand-eye co-ordination
Knowledge of preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment
Dependability, Judgement, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player
Coach and instruct apprentices
Responsibilities:
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION
Engine repair, 4-wheel drive, Electrical and electronic system, Diesel engines, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake system, Hydraulic system, Fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Automatic transmission, Standard transmission, Engine repair and overhaul, Drive train components, Truck-trailer repair, Front end components, Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, Machinery or equipment repair, Transportation equipment
AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SPECIFIC SKILLS
Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components, Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems, Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications, Perform scheduled maintenance service, Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements, Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY EXPERIENCE
Diesel generators, Tuggers, Conveyor, Generators and turbines, Gasoline-powered equipment
MECHANICAL REPAIRER SPECIFIC SKILLS
Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit, Repair or replace mechanical units or components, Test and adjust units to specifications, Complete reports to record problems and work performed
TRUCK AND TRANSPORT AND TRUCK-TRAILER MECHANIC SPECIFIC SKILLS
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
TYPE OF INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
Repair and overhaul facility
