Erica Lane Enterprises, Inc. has approximately 1+0 employees who work throughout almost two dozen specialty shops and the main motor pool which make up the Aviation Maintenance Support Shops (AMSS) on Fort Novosel.
This program provides centralized support in aviation inspections, aviation intermediate maintenance repair, limited depot repair, and complete depot level upon approval, modification of aircraft parts and components, National Maintenance Program workload, local manufacture of parts and equipment, and on-site support for aircraft maintenance operations to satellite units. Additionally, limited maintenance on assigned buildings is performed.
Responsibilities
• Perform inspections, checks, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, maintenance and preservation of avionics and similar equipment.
• Perform calibration of tools and equipment.
• Work with and maintain standard and non-standard test equipment, instruments, meters, and gauges used in troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft avionics, electrical, instrument systems.
• Perform inspection, functional check, troubleshooting, modification, repair, overhaul, maintenance and preservation of avionics, radio, electromechanical radar, navigation, autopilot automatic stabilization, instrument, ASE and photo systems, components, and parts.
• Work with design, test and development personnel in adapting new avionics, electrical and instrumentation designs to aircraft installations.
• Perform in-house calibration requirements of tools and equipment used by employees in this and lower classifications.
• May be required to participate in aerial flights.
• Replace aircraft batteries.
• Complete and maintain records and reports as functional assignments require.
• Operate aircraft towing equipment in aircraft towing operations.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
Other Responsibilities of all classifications:
• Operate motor vehicles, machines and special purpose equipment as required by the job assignment.
• Perform prescribed cleaning, preservation and operator maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Ensure that tools and equipment used by the employee in the classification are properly calibrated.
• When selected, attend schools and classes designated by the Company for employees in the assigned classification.
• Use approved methods and publications in the performance of the assigned job.
• Complete and maintain records and reports as required by job assignment.
• Demonstrate job procedures and assist in the on-the-job training (OJT) of employees within the classification as required.
• Dispose of hazardous materials related to job assignment.
• May remove and reinstall cowlings, panels and fairings necessary to gain access to work within this classification.
• When assigned to the flight line, provide customer support during launch and recovery and aircraft security as required.
Requirements:
• Must be a graduate of a recognized school (civilian or military) for aircraft electronics / avionics maintenance repair and overhaul, or two (2) years avionics, or aircraft electrical systems experience may be substituted.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be capable of passing a drug screen and background check.
• Must have current favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR 380-67.
• Must have a broad knowledge of AC/DC electricity, electromechanical components, and radio and electronics, including radar and navigation and autopilot / automatic stabilization systems used in aircraft.
• Must have the knowledge of, and ability to apply, shop mathematics in the performance of the job.
• May be required to obtain aircraft run-up authorizations.
• Must have knowledge of aircraft technical orders and publications and have the ability to read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, technical orders and publications.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Must have a working knowledge of computers to input and extract data.
