AWS NodeJS Developer

Overview

The AWS NodeJS Developer plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of software solutions that are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This position is crucial in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of the applications that drive the organization’s business objectives. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and implement applications using Node.js while leveraging AWS services to enhance functionality and performance. This includes deploying applications, integrating APIs, and ensuring seamless cloud operations. Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Node.js and AWS technologies.
• Implement RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between different services.
• Work with serverless architecture using AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software development.
• Collaborate closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Manage and optimize database management systems, including AWS RDS and DynamoDB.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues promptly.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment processes.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions to improve system performance.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and industry trends to apply in innovative solutions.
• Utilize version control systems like Git effectively in collaborative projects.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure the functionality of the application.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Engage in Agile methodologies to ensure the project remains timely and within scope.
• Document code changes, processes, and application architecture.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in software development with a focus on Node.js.
• Proficient in AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with database systems, particularly SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Background in using version control (e.g., Git) and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications efficiently.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Prior experience in deploying secure, scalable applications in AWS is a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Prior experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
