Position Overview :

As a Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the server-side components of our software applications. You will work closely with front-end developers, database administrators, and other team members to ensure the seamless functioning of our applications. Your expertise in server-side programming and database management will be essential in delivering high-performance and scalable software solutions.

Responsibilities :

- Server-Side Development: Develop and maintain the server-side logic of web and mobile applications using programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Node.js, Java, or others.

- Database Management: Design and manage databases, including data modelling, schema creation, and optimization for performance and scalability. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases is typically required.

- API Development: Create and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs to facilitate communication between the frontend and backend systems.

- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks, improve system performance, and optimise database queries to ensure fast response times.

- Security: Implement security best practices to protect against common web application vulnerabilities, such as SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF.

- Integration: Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

- Version Control: Use version control systems like Git to manage code repositories and collaborate effectively with the development team.

- Testing and Debugging: Write unit tests, conduct integration testing, and troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure the reliability of backend components.

- Scalability: Design and implement solutions that can handle increased loads and scale horizontally as the application grows.

- Documentation: Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for backend systems, APIs, and codebase.

- Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable software releases.

- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers, to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualification :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

- Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Node.js, Java).

- Experience with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL).

- Familiarity with web frameworks and technologies (e.g., Express.js, Django, Ruby on Rails).

- Knowledge of RESTful and/or GraphQL API design and development.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Understanding of security best practices for web applications.

- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
