Job Duties

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 800. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applicants for the position of Benefit Administrator (Human Resource Analyst I ).

Duties include: Administering and managing benefits programs to include State Health/Life/Dental, Virginia Retirement System, FMLA and ADA. Provides guidance and direction to employees, and serves as primary liaison with payroll staff, DHRM, VRS, and providers on benefits/transactions issues. Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in the administration of benefits programs to include: health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement to include monthly reconciliations is required.

Additional Considerations

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, accounting/finance, human resources or related field, or equivalent combination of training and work experience is preferred.

• Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is preferred.

• Cardinal/PeopleSoft experience is preferred.

• Experience in conducting professional presentations and/or meetings to explain and educate on benefits wellness, and HR programs is preferred.

• Extensive experience in benefit reconciliation processes. VNAV/VRS reconciliations is preferred.
