Bookkeeper Position

The bookkeeper is responsible for managing the bookkeeping and general administrative duties. Primary responsibilities include preparing financial records on cloud-based accounting software and related technology stacks to assist in handling full cycle of accounting and bookkeeping for our clients.
• *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintaining records according to Canadian generally accepted accounting principles including the recording of general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliation of bank statements
- Preparing HST/GST/QST/PST tax returns for all provinces as needed
- Directly communicating with clients using online tools such as teamwork, slack, zoom etc. with little to no supervision for basic tasks
- Participating in activities needed to support the management functions of the team
- Performing other duties as assigned
• *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)**
- Three or more years of strong bookkeeping and accounting experience is required and familiarity with Canadian GAAP experience is required
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
- Certified Pro Advisor for QBO and Xero accounting platform
- Experience processing payroll (Wagepoint, QB integrated payroll, ADP etc)
- In-home office setup including: Mac or PC computer with minimum 1.0ghz dual core processor, 8gb, and webcam
- Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, organize and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy
- Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
- Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with clients
