Position Overview
We are looking for a full-time, detail-oriented CAD & 3D Visualization Specialist to support the Principal Designer in creating precise technical drawings, 3D models, walkthroughs, and visual presentations. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Enscape (or a similar plugin), and has a strong understanding of Ontario’s permit drawing standards. This role will be instrumental in executing multi-storey home renovations and ensuring all deliverables align with both creative vision and building regulations. BCIN certification is considered a strong asset but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Create and revise 2D CAD drawings and permit-ready drawing sets for residential renovations.
Develop 3D models and realistic walkthroughs to help clients visualize spaces.
Translate design concepts and sketches into detailed plans, elevations, sections, and millwork drawings.
Prepare presentation materials and layout boards using InDesign or Illustrator.
Ensure all technical drawings comply with Ontario building codes and regulations.
Coordinate with the Principal Designer and Construction Lead (Phil) for project alignment.
Manage drawing documentation, organization, and timely updates through project stages.
Support 2–3 concurrent large-scale renovations (up to 4 storeys)
Qualifications
Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, InDesign, and rendering tools such as Enscape or Lumion.
Strong understanding of interior design documentation, drawing standards, and construction detailing.
Proven experience creating photorealistic 3D visualizations, walkthroughs, and virtual presentations.
Skilled in developing detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and millwork drawings.
Ability to create professional presentation layouts that effectively communicate design concepts.
Highly organized with excellent file management practices and attention to detail.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to take creative direction and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices is an asset.
Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of experience in a similar CAD or design support role within the interior design or architecture industry.
Experience using rendering plug-ins such as Enscape, V-Ray, or Lumion is strongly preferred.
Experience working on multi-storey residential buildings is a strong asset.
BCIN certification is considered a valuable asset.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years in a CAD or drafting role within interior design, residential architecture, or related field.
Travel
Occasional travel within the GTA for site visits and project meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Monday to Friday
