We are looking for a compassionate Career Counsellor to work directly with women who have experienced domestic abuse or human trafficking. You’ll play a key role in helping clients develop skills, build confidence, and secure employment that leads to long-term stability. This is a maternity leave coverage contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct one-on-one assessments to understand clients’ skills, work history, and goals, and develop personalized employment plans.
Provide empathetic, career counseling to women fostering a supportive environment that encourages self-discovery and personal growth.
Facilitate job readiness workshops, including resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies.
Provide ongoing support and coaching to boost clients’ professional communication and workplace confidence.

Demonstrated compassion and commitment to supporting clients in rebuilding their lives.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and challenges faced by survivors of domestic violence.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.

Ability to build trust and handle information confidentially.
Cultural sensitivity and commitment to supporting women from diverse backgrounds.
Familiarity with community resources related to employment and social services.
