Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Residential. Roads and bridges. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Estimate costs and materials. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel regularly. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Work with minimal supervision. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Safety vest. Personal suitability: Reliability. Team player. Punctuality. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you available for the advertised start date?. Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Are you willing to relocate for this position?.
