About the Role:

Are you passionate about inclusive education and committed to creating meaningful learning experiences for young people with intellectual disabilities?


We are currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Trainers and Assessors to deliver the Work Education and/or Transition Education courses within a supportive and student-focused learning environment.


This is more than a teaching role – it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of students by supporting their independence, confidence, and pathways to employment and community participation.


Key areas of responsibility include, but not limited to:


Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment that fosters trust, respect, and positive engagement for all students
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that are tailored to students’ individual learning styles, abilities, and behavioural needs
Implement positive behaviour support strategies to proactively manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner
Establish clear routines, boundaries, and expectations, while remaining flexible and responsive to individual needs
Work collaboratively with learning support staff, allied health professionals, and families to support holistic student development
Promote social-emotional learning and resilience, helping students develop communication, self-regulation, and interpersonal skills
Use trauma-informed and person-centred approaches to understand and respond to the underlying causes of behaviours
Model respectful, inclusive, and professional conduct at all times, supporting students to feel valued and empowered
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, behaviour incidents, and support plans
Actively participate in staff training, team meetings, and reflective practice to continuously improve strategies for engagement and inclusion

Employment Opportunity:

Casuals as required


Salary:

Casual Teacher L1 | $82.01 (teaching) and $55.74 (non-teaching) per hour | AQF4 teaching qualification

Casual Teacher L2 | $85.23 (teaching) and $57.+3 (non-teaching) per hour | AQF5 teaching qualification

Casual Teacher L3 | $88.60 (teaching) and $60.1+ (non-teaching) per hour | AQF6+ teaching qualification


Superannuation is paid at the current superannuation guarantee rate.

Some key knowledge and qualifications required include:


Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) or equivalent.
Industry qualifications to enable you to teach across Work Education and/or Transition Education.
Demonstrated working knowledge and application of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and National Child Safe Principles.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children, including children with a disability and from culturally and/or linguistically diverse background.
A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
