Chef – Rossini at the Quay (Circular Quay,
Sydney)
Rossini at the Quay is a vibrant Italian restaurant located on Sydney’s iconic Circular Quay waterfront. We pride ourselves on bringing authentic Italian flavors and a warm, friendly atmosphere to our guests, with beautiful harbor views as the backdrop. We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our passionate kitchen team. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity for a creative cook who loves Italian cuisine and takes pride in delivering consistently excellent dishes. Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant commercial kitchen experience, preferably in Italian or
similar cuisine.
Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) is preferred.
Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (food safety certification an
advantage).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the kitchen
team.
A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook dishes: Efficiently cook and present our authentic Italian menu items,
ensuring consistent quality, taste, and beautiful presentation.
Maintain quality and hygiene: Uphold the highest standards of food quality, freshness,
and kitchen hygiene at all times. Maintain a clean, organized work station and follow
safety protocols.
Manage stock and inventory: Monitor kitchen inventory, manage stock levels, and
coordinate supply orders to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
Menu development: Collaborate with the team to develop new menu items and refine
recipes, bringing creativity and passion to our Italian offerings.
Training and mentoring: Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when
needed, sharing your knowledge and passion for cooking.
Team collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure smooth
service and an outstanding dining experience for our guests. Communicate effectively
with management and colleagues.
