Cooks and Chefs
High Society café and restaurant has a vacancy opening for Cooks and Chefs.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Examine ingredients and foodstuffs to ensure quality
Prepare full range of foods according to the Menu and customer requirements
Prepare, serve and store food items in regard to the requirements of our kitchen
Seasons food according to recipes or restaurant needs
Change and create menu with Head Chef when required
Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
Ensure all meals are prepared and presented in a professional manner
Ensure all our policies and procedures, health and hygiene requirements are adhered to
Maintain, order and rotate stock
Supervise and train other cooks, apprentices and other kitchen employees when required
Assist in maintaining customer service standards set by the Employer
Requirements:
AQF Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent or 3 years of relevant work experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar capacity
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
Attention to details
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
Ability to work under pressure
