Job Title: Child Counsellor
Location: Vastral
Reporting to: Principal / School Administrator
Department: Student Wellness / Support Services

Job Summary:

The Child Counsellor is responsible for supporting the mental, emotional, and social well-being of students. The counsellor works closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to help children overcome academic, behavioural, and personal challenges through individual or group counselling, assessments, and intervention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students experiencing emotional, behavioural, or academic difficulties.
Identify students' needs through observation, discussions, and assessments.
Support children in developing coping strategies and conflict-resolution skills.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to create supportive environments for students.
Address issues such as bullying, peer pressure, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, family conflict, and learning difficulties.
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions.
Keep accurate records of counselling sessions, concerns, and action plans.
Refer students to external mental health professionals or agencies when necessary.
Conduct workshops or awareness programs on mental health, self-care, stress management, and social skills.
Develop Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) for students with ongoing needs.
Monitor student progress and follow up on cases regularly.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Child Development, or related field.
Certified counsellor (preferred if licensed by a recognized body).
Minimum 2 years of experience in counselling children or adolescents (school setting preferred).
Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues tactfully.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,718.18 - ₹15,000.00 per month
